Deputies Find Estranged Boyfriend Choking Girlfriend

Johnston County deputies arrived at a domestic dispute in the Meadow community just in time Saturday night. Officers said when they pulled up in the driveway of a home on Reedy Prong Church Road , they saw Durwood Roger Tart II choking his estranged girlfriend about the neck. Deputies subdued Tart about the same time the 25-year-old victim said she was about to loose consciousness. The victim told authorities she tried to call for help earlier but Tart broke the telephone. A domestic violence restraining order had been issued against Tart in January. The 29-year-old man was placed in the Johnston County Jail without bond, on charges of violating a restraining order, interfering with a 911 call, assault by strangulation, and domestic assault.
