More I-40 Lane Closures Planned Tuesday

The DOT is again encouraging motorists to use an alternate route Tuesday if you have to travel eastbound on I-40 between Highway 70 and NC42. Highway crews will close the outside eastbound lane of Interstate 40 between Exits 306 and 312 from 4am until 3pm on Tuesday. Motorists can expect heavy delays in the area. The posted speed limit will also be reduced during the lane closures. The closures are necessary to perform paving operations as part of the US70 Clayton Bypass, currently under construction.
